Ergänzend zur Gameplay-Enthüllung in dieser Woche wurden weitere Details zur spielerischen Umsetzung des "Dead Space"-Remakes genannt. Wie es heißt, dürfen wir uns unter anderem über erweiterte Upgrade-Pfade für die Waffen oder optionale Bereiche freuen.

In dieser Woche ermöglichten uns die verantwortlichen Entwickler der EA Motive Studios endlich einen ausführlichen Blick auf das Gameplay des „Dead Space“-Remakes. Ergänzend dazu wurden Details zu diversen spielerischen Neuerungen genannt, die in der Neuauflage geboten werden.

So wurden zum einen kleinere narrative Änderungen bestätigt. Beispielsweise wird der Protagonist Isaac Clarke komplett vertont. Gleichzeitig werden diverse Überlieferungen aus „Dead Space 2“ und „Dead Space 3“ in die Handlung eingefügt und Anpassungen an ausgewählten Szenen vorgenommen. Als Beispiel wird die Verwandlung des toten Captains in einen Necromorph genannt, die ihr nun nicht mehr hinter einer sicheren Scheibe, sondern stattdessen hautnah miterlebt.

Auch die Art und Weise, wie Isaac den Plasma-Cutter erhält, wurde überarbeitet. Im Remake von „Dead Space“ wird Isaac seine Kenntnisse nutzen, um die Waffe aus herumliegenden Teilen zusammenzubauen, anstatt den Plasma-Cutter einfach nur auf einer Werkbank zu finden. Ähnlich wird es laut Entwicklerangaben beim Stase-Modul ablaufen.

Euer Erkundungsdrang soll gefördert werden

Eine weitere Neuerung versteckt sich laut den EA Motive Studios hinter den Leistungsschaltern, auf die Isaac an bestimmten Stellen des Spiels stößt. Hier steht Isaac vor der Aufgabe, Energie des Schiffes umzuleiten. Um die dafür nötige Energie abzuzwacken, müsst ihr euch beispielsweise entscheiden, ob ihr das Licht oder die Sauerstoffzufuhr des entsprechenden Areals deaktivieren wollt. Eine Entscheidung, die maßgeblichen Einfluss darauf haben wird, wie sich das anschließend folgende Areal spielt.

Mit neuen verschlossenen Räumen und exklusivem Loot soll im Remake von „Dead Space“ euer Erkundungsdrang gefördert werden. Da einige der Räume mit höheren Sicherheitsfreigabestufen versehen wurden, möchten euch die Entwickler dazu animieren, in ältere Bereiche zurückzukehren, sobald ihr die jeweilige Freigabe erhalten habt. Auf diesem Wege kommt ihr unter anderem in den Genuss einer optionalen Quest, die sich um Nicole drehen wird.

Abschließend wurde versprochen, dass das Remake im Vergleich mit dem originalen „Dead Space“ aus dem Jahr 2008 erweiterte Upgrade-Pfade für die Waffen erhält. In mehr oder weniger regelmäßigen Abständen stoßt ihr auf wertvolle und seltene Aufsätze, mit denen ihr optionale Upgrade-Pfade freischalten könnt. Ob diese lediglich für mehr Durchschlagskraft sorgen oder auch neue Fähigkeiten mit sich bringen, wurde nicht verraten.
