Change My Address of RecordAccording to N.C.G.S. 58-2-69(b) " Every licensee must give written notification to the Commissioner of any change of the licensee's residential address within 10 business days after the licensee moves into their new residence. Effective 01/01/2010, every licensee must provide a valid e-mail address and give written notification to the Commissioner of any change to the licensee’s email address within 10 business days after the change. Failure to update residential address or e-mail within 10 business days must result in a $50.00 fee. Licensees may change their residential or e-mail address by completing the Free E-mail and Address Update online contact information maintenance system through State Based Systems (SBS) available for North Carolina licensees. Licensees must provide current e-mail addresses because Agent Services Division sends important license notifications via e-mail. Contact the state to which you are moving for instructions on how to apply for licensure there. You must cancel your resident NC license(s) to receive a resident license in a new state.
